Enorme fin de course
Ils étaient près de 8000 fondeurs inscrits pour cette Marcialonga 2015 comptant pour la série Ski Classics et la FIS Marathon Cup. Parmi eux près de 3000 Norvégiens et pas loin de 1000 Suédois, venus comme chaque année pour ce rendez-vous incontournable.
Malgré le manque de neige dans le Val di Fiemme, les organisateurs ont pu tracer un parcours de 57km.
Les gros bras, c'est le cas de le dire, ont progressivement fait la différence sur ce tracé très roulant. Il aura fallu attendre les trois derniers kilomètres pour voir Oystein Pettersen placer une grosse attaque.

Le leader du circuit Ski Classics fait exploser le groupe de tête et parvient à prendre quelques secondes d'avance sur Anders Aukland, Gjerdalen, Eriksson et Berdal.
Pettersen attaque seul les deux derniers kilomètres en montée vers Cavalese. Les pourcentages sont difficiles mais les meilleurs restent en double poussée. Tout sur les bras...
Eriksson et Berdal vont alors perdre quelques secondes au moment ou Aukland et Gjerdalen reviennent sur Pettersen. La jonction est effectuée juste avant le sommet de la montée.
Aukland, 42 ans, passe devant et accélère avant que son coéquipier du Team Santander Tord Asle Gjerdalen le double pour filer seul vers son premier succès sur une épreuve longue distance.
Epuisé Gjerdalen s'écroule une fois la ligne franchie. Anders Aukland prend la deuxième place et Oystein Pettersen complète le podium.
Benoit Chauvet se classe 60eme et Adrien Mougel 78eme.

Très belle course également chez les dames avec la victoire finale de Katerina Smutna.
L'Autrichienne s'est échappée bien avant la dernière montée avant de remporter sa première Marcialonga avec 10sec de marge sur la Norvégienne Leila Kveli et 12sec sur la Suissesse Seraina Boner, revenue fort sur la fin.
A noter la très belle 9eme place de la fondeuse Haut-Savoyarde Aurélie Dabudyk...

"It's really cool to win here in Italy, especially as it is such a traditional and important race in the calendar. We really had incredible skis. The whole team did a great job in attacking throughout the race. I am just so happy that I had enough power left to win the finish sprint and therefore the race!"

"Of course I would have liked to win – it was a tough race and a hard fight the whole way through today, and in the end Tord Asle was just a bit stronger. We pushed both very hard in the last uphill after Oystein had attacked and I thought I can bring it right into the finish but once up on the finish straight, Tord Asle pushed so hard that I couldn't match it. In any way, it was a great day for our team!"
3rd Oystein Pettersein (NOR):
"I tried everything and gave all I had, but in the end it wasn't enough. So I have to be happy with my third place as Tord Asle and Anders were just really strong today."
1st Katerina Smutna (AUT):
"It was a really hard race today, especially the last uphill was consuming a lot of energy. But I was strong enough today to go all the way through and win the race. I am really happy!"
