Journée historique pour François Braud
Vainqueur de la manche de saut à ski ce matin, le combiné de Chamnix a parfaitement résisté cet après-midi sur le 10km en ski de fond. Admirable de volonté et de ténacité, il n'a pas voulu laisser passer sa chance.
Rattrapé puis doublé sur la piste par le grand bonhomme du moment, l'Allemand Johannes Rydzek et le très rapide Magnus Moan, François Braud a su trouver les ressources nécessaires pour devancer le surprenant Finlandais Herola dans le final.
Braud devient le 8e Français à monter sur un podium de coupe du monde, il rejoint Guy, Guillaume, Girard, Roux, Lamy-Chappuis, Lacroix et Laheurte.
Devant l'Allemand Rydzek s'impose pour la troisième fois après les JO et nous prouve qu'il faudra sérieusement compter avec lui pour le globe dès la prochaine saison.
Magnus Moan, revenu de la 12e place, n'avait plus la force nécessaire pour devancer Rydzek au sprint. Le Norvégien se contentera sans doute de sa belle deuxième place.
Le champion olympique Graabak, autre combiné de grand avenir, se classe 5e devant le Japonais Watabe et la révélation Autrichienne Sepp Schneider.
Maxime Laheurte se classe 15e, Sébastien Lacroix 24e et Jason Lamy-Chappuis, en difficulté dès la manche de saut, seulement 27e.
La coupe du monde se terminera le week-end prochain à Falun, lieu des prochains mondiaux en 2015, avec un Team Sprint et une épreuve individuelle. L'Allemand Eric Frenzel étant assuré de remporter un second globe de cristal consécutif.

Johannes Rydzek (GER): "I had a great jump again today, I have never been so far up the jumping result list with my second place. The race was really tough. The conditions were soft and I broke a pole in the second round and I had to go quite slowly in the second and third lap. But at the end I was able to attack and use all of my power on the home stretch. It's simply amazing to be able to win here at Holmenkollen. This is so unique!"
Magnus Moan (NOR): "It was really fun to ski again today. I was really satisfied with my jumping and to be only 36 seconds behind, it shows that the way I have been working on the hill is positive and on the track it was also pretty good today. It was fun to be in a battle with Johannes!"
Francois Braud (FRA): "I am really really happy today. Like I said, Oslo is my favourite place and to be on the podium here is just amazing! I know that I was in good shape since the Olympic Games and I was really frustrated to come back without a team medal. So I my head I said we will see at the end of the season because we will be here in Oslo and yeah, it's just perfect!"
