Belle ambiance à Engelberg
Les Suisses sont venus très nombreux pour encourager leur héros Simon Ammann. Auteur d'un superbe début de saison, "Simi", vise le podium durant le week-end mais aujourd'hui il a du déchanter, plombé par un premier saut manqué.
Son deuxième bond à 139.5m a ensuite fait chavirer le stade mais il était trop tard. Le Saint-Gallois se classe seulement 9eme mais attention à lui pour dimanche.
L'Allemand Richard Freitag avec ses deux sauts à 128.5m et 135.5m pour un total de 277.7 points gagne ce concours et s'impose pour la 4eme fois de sa carrière, la seconde cet hiver après l'épreuve d'ouverture de Klingenthal.
Deuxième place pour le Tchèque Roman Koudelka à seulement à 0,6 points. "Koudi" s'offre un 5eme podium, le troisième cette saison.
On retrouve deux sauteurs sur la troisième marche du podium, Michael Hayboeck et Jernej Damjan. L'espoir Autrichien joue une nouvelle fois avec les meilleurs et termine à égalité avec le Slovène vainqueur des qualifications vendredi.
Places d'honneur pour Peter Prevc et Stefan Kraft.
Les Norvégiens sont battus avec Rune Velta 10eme juste devant le revenant Sjoeen et le prometteur Forfang.
Vincent Descombes-Sevoie prend une jolie 18eme place et retrouve des couleurs après plusieurs concours difficiles. Ronan Lamy-Chappuis manque de peu sa place en manche finale et se classe 32eme.

Richard Freitag (GER): “It was a lot of fun to jump here today, of course it's perfect when you win. But it's not always about winning, it's about jumping well and, when you are struggling a bit, it's about closing the gap to the best again. Taking a break last weekend was important for me and I think I used it well. I'm fit and jumping is a lot of fun."
Roman Koudelka (CZE): "I was a bit late at the take-off in both jumps, but still I'm very satisfied. My goal is the 4-Hills-Tournament and I'm looking forward to it. I think that five or six athletes will be really strong there, but I'll give my best. Tomorrow I want to make two good jumps and then we'll see the result. I don't care if I'm 6th, 8th or better then."
Michael Hayboeck (AUT): "Unfortunately the second jump today was my first jump here which was not that good. I'm in a very good shape and so a lot is possible tomorrow and at the 4-Hills-Tournament."
Jernej Damjan (SLO): "I'm really happy to be on the podium today, I thought that it was not enough after my second jump. My feeling is very positive and I'm looking forward to tomorrow's competition and the 4-Hills-Tournament."
