La saison est lancée
Un peu déçu hier soir après leurs performances individuelles, les Français ont su réagir. Une réaction rapide et explosive puisque Jason Lamy-Chappuis s'est posé ce matin à 145m lors du saut d'essai.
Résultat, il casse skis et chaussures à l'atterrissage, heureusement sans gravité.
Quelques minutes plus tard avec son coéquipier François Braud ils prennent la 3eme place du concours du saut, 30sec environ derrière les Norvégiens.
Haavard Klemetsen et Jörgen Graabak ont su garder cet avantage sur la piste. Sans jamais trembler les Scandinaves ont remporté un succès logique et mérité.
Derrière on a assisté à une belle bataille entre l'Allemagne 2, la France, les deux équipes d'Autriche et la République Tchèque.
Dans l'avant dernier relais Jason Lamy-Chappuis place une grosse accélération. Seule l'Allemagne résiste avec Kircheisen. François Braud entre en piste pour la dernière boucle mais cette fois c'est lui qui cède face au talent de Eric Frenzel.
La France se contentera volontiers de cette belle troisième place. Un podium difficile à atteindre car derrière le duo Allemagne 1 revenait très fort avec le vainqueur du concours de samedi Johannes Rydzek.

Voilà les Tricolores rassurés pour la prochaine étape de Lillehammer...

Joergen Graabak (NOR): „A really good day for both me and Haavard. I did a basic good jump and Haavard had an amazing jump on the hill and got us into a good starting position for the relay. I just tried to go our own race and keep the other ones at a good distance. And we did, so the last two round were just surfing, enjoying the moment and then a victory here in Ruka is always fun."
Eric Frenzel (GER) : „I think this second place was a very good result for us, we are very satisfied. It was a good team effort today with our other team on rank four as well. We proved that we are in a good shape right now. I personally was very satisfied with my competition.
The skiing went very well, we had good material. I would wish to be better at certain points in the jumping part, though but this will come in the competitions now. It was definitely a good hint today."
Jason Lamy Chappuis (FRA): „The race went very well for us today. Yesterday was difficult in the individual and today I started the day badly with a big fall. But I had fun, though, going 145 metres. I was a bit scared before the competition round because after a fall, it’s always difficult to focus but it went pretty well.
I felt good also on the cross-country skis and Francois did a great job, like yesterday. He’s in a good shape. It feels good to be back on the podium. It has been a long time."
