Kraus s'en souviendra longtemps !
Journée de rêve pour ce sauteur Allemand, âgé de 22 ans, qui monte pour la première fois de sa carrière sur un podium en coupe du monde. Tout cela après seulement six concours à ce niveau.
Pour couronner le tout, Marinus Kraus accompagne sur la boîte les deux stars de la discipline que sont Thomas Morgenstern et Gregor Schlierenzauer. Un sacré exploit et probablement un nom à retenir.
Le vainqueur du jour c'est encore Gregor Schlierenzauer. L'Autrichien, qui avait refusé de sauter la semaine passé à Klingenthal en raison d'un vent trop fort, s'était attiré les foudres des instances dirigeantes de la FIS.
Thomas Morgenstern accompagne son pote sur le podium pour la 20e fois de l'histoire en terminant troisième avec 272.3 points. Il célèbre également son 73e podium en carrière. 5eme total de l'histoire.
Intercalé entre les deux monstres on retrouve donc ce Marinus Kraus. Le "sans grade" de l'équipe d'Allemagne totalise 272.7 points.Il passe tout près du succès.
Le Norvégien Rune Velta termine au 4e rang suivi par le vétéran magique Noriaki Kasai.
Ronan Lamy-Chappuis, seul Français qualifié, termine 49e.
Au classement de la coupe du monde, le Polonais Biegun mène avec 113 points devant Kraus 112 points et Schlierenzauer 100 points.

Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT): "I didn't think it would be possible to move up from 15th to first. I had some problems in the first round, but my second jump was very good and I also had some luck with the conditions. For the second jump it doesn't matter on what place you are after the first round. You have to do a good job, jump well and with good conditions and a very good jump you can be on top. It's always great to win and now I'm happy and satisfied. Having 51 wins is amazing and it makes me proud."
Marinus Kraus (GER): "I was working hard in summer. I'm in a good shape and jumping is fun for me right now. I was very nervous before my second jump. It was not easy for me, but it's also great if you can jump together with the best. My jumps today were very good. It's my first time in Kuusamo and I love this hill. Tomorrow I want to do my best again and jump far."
Thomas Morgenstern (AUT): "I'm satisfied with my performances in all four jumps today, they were really good. For me it's important to be consistent, so I'm satisfied with the competition and the result. It's not easy when you have to wait before your jump because of the wind but I can trust my coaches and the jury and everything was safe today. Ruka is one of my favorite hills in the World Cup. I heard the conditions tomorrow will be better so I'm looking forward to the competition because I really like jumping here."
