La star du saut Autrichien a toujours gardé la confiance pendant ses longs mois sans victoire. Pour un champion de son niveau, ce sont probablement des moments compliqués à gêrer.
Depuis le début de saison Schliri montait en puissance et ce soir sur le tremplin de Lillehammer il ne s'est pas démonté malgré des conditions difficiles. Un vent soufflant souvent fort de dos, qui a vite condamné Ammann et Kasai, héros de Kuusamo.
Gregor Schlierenzauer a pris les commandes du concours en première manche avant de confirmer avec un superbe deuxième saut. Malgré une longue attente au sommet de la rampe d'élan, et une barre abaissée, son expérience l'a aidé à conserver son calme.
Résultat un 53eme succès en coupe du monde, record amélioré, avec deux sauts à 127.5m et 138.5m pour un total de 302.7 points. Son premier succès depuis le 7 décembre sur le tremplin de ... Lillehammer.
Le Norvégien Anders Fannemel est passé tout près d'une première victoire au niveau mondial mais "Schliri" a mis fin au rêve. Fannemel se consolera avec son premier top 3 en carrière.
Second podium en carrière pour le jeune Michael Hayboeck. Le jeune coéquipier de Schlierenzauer réalise un début de saison remarquable.
Daiki Ito, Peter Prevc, Severin Freund et Anders Bardal occupent les places d'honneur. 39eme place pour Ronan Lamy-Chappuis et 50eme rang pour un Vincent Descombes-Sevoie pas gâté par le vent.
Simon Ammann conserve la tête du général devant Kasai et Fannemel.
Prochain concours dimanche sur ce tremplin de Lillehammer.

Michael Hayboeck (AUT): "It was a great day for myself and for Austrian ski jumping. I was able to equal my career-best, last year I was third in Wisla. I have been jumping very well this season and today it was finally enough to be on the podium. I'm happy and now we'll see what's possible tomorrow."
