The 2026 Banff Half Marathon & 10K took place on Sunday, June 14, 2026 in Banff, Alberta — inside Canada's first National Park, surrounded by the breathtaking Canadian Rockies. With in-person entries completely sold out for both the half marathon and 10K, this beloved race since 2013 once again demonstrated its standing as one of the most spectacular running events on the planet. The course flows from Banff Central Park past the serene Vermilion Lakes, along the Legacy Trail and Bow Valley Parkway, returning alongside the Bow River to a finish at Anchor Park in downtown Banff. The terrain is slightly rolling and relatively flat — dramatic mountain scenery without grueling climbs. Wildlife encounters (elk, deer, bighorn sheep) are part of the experience, with a Wildlife Interaction Response Plan in place. The event also benefits the YWCA Banff. A free Roam Transit service runs for all participants, families, and volunteers.
