The Boilermaker Road Race returns to Utica, New York, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the traditional second Sunday of July. Founded in 1978 with a budget of $750 and 800 local runners, the race has grown into the world's largest 15K and one of the most competitive road races in the United States, drawing international professional runners alongside thousands of recreational entrants. The 15K, presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, is USATF recertified and starts at 8:00am; the 5K, presented by Utica National Insurance Group, starts at 7:15am; the wheelchair 15K, presented by NBT Bank and Sitrin Health Care Center, starts at 7:45am. The course starts near Culver Ave and Dwyer Ave and finishes at Court St. at Varick St., passing through the Utica Parks and Parkway Historic District and the suburbs of New Hartford and Yorkville. Both the 15K (capped at 11,000) and the 5K (capped at 4,500) are sold out for 2026. The race is part of the USATF Adirondack Region Grand Prix Series. Timing and results: Leone Timing.
