The 25th Buffalo Marathon Weekend takes place on Saturday–Sunday 23–24 May 2026 in downtown Buffalo, New York. The premier destination event of Memorial Day Weekend in Western New York, it draws 5,000–10,000 participants across eight events catering to every level — from toddlers in the Diaper Dash to Boston-hopefuls chasing a BQ on the flat, fast marathon course. The full and half marathon share a common start and finish line less than 900 feet apart, directly in front of the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center at 153 Franklin Street. The course loops through Buffalo's finest neighbourhoods and landmarks — Lake Erie's waterfront at LaSalle Park and the Basin Marina, the historic Forest Lawn Cemetery, Delaware Park (Frederick Law Olmsted), Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D. Martin House, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery — before returning downtown. A certified Boston Marathon Qualifier and part of the Abbott WMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings qualifying series. All proceeds from the 5K and family events benefit cardiac programs at GVI, Buffalo General and Children's Hospital.

Marathon (42.2 km): Loop course heading first to LaSalle Park and the Lake Erie waterfront → ~7 scenic miles along the lakeside via the Basin Marina → north toward Forest Lawn Cemetery → Delaware Park (Olmsted design, ~mile 17) → Albright-Knox Art Gallery → Delaware Avenue → finish at Franklin St. Mostly flat, minimal elevation. Water every other mile + Gatorade; GU at mile 11.
Half Marathon (21.1 km): Same course out-and-back format. Common start — finish <900 ft from start. Waterfront miles 10–12. Certified BQ.
Host hotel: Embassy Suites by Hilton / Hyatt Regency (attached to Convention Center). Airport: Buffalo Niagara Airport, ~20 min from downtown. Expo & post-race party: Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
