Results & Tracking → 🌐 Official Page →The mountains are calling once again: on Sunday, September 13, 2026, the Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon, 10K & 5K marks its 30th anniversary, organised by Ascent Events at Centennial Park in the heart of Canmore, Alberta. Set against the backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, this beloved community race is one of the largest and oldest events in town, welcoming over 3,500 participants and 150 volunteers, plus hundreds of cheering spectators, every year. Package pickup begins Thursday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m., with the half marathon starting Sunday: runners estimating a sub-2-hour finish set off at 8:00 a.m., followed by the rest of the field at 8:15 a.m.
The half marathon course is a beautiful mix of asphalt and high-quality gravel, following a route through woodlands, beside mountain streams, and through a historic coal mine site, with several short climbs and winding paths, a gradual incline followed by roughly 45 metres of decline through the second half, and six water stations along the way. Because of the 3-hour time limit, walking the half marathon isn't generally recommended, though exceptions are made for race walkers. The 10K and 5K loops are more approachable for beginners and walkers, beginning in the middle of historic Canmore and following the Bow River, with the same stunning views of Ha Ling Peak and the Three Sisters. Every finisher receives a locally-made wooden finisher medal. Registration for 2026 has sold out. Results and live tracking of all distances: Zone4.
