The Carmel Marathon Weekend returns for its 16th edition on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Carmel, Indiana (Hamilton County, IN 46032). All four races share the same start and finish line on City Center Drive north of the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts — one of the most distinctive finish lines in American road racing. The Carmel Marathon presented by Ascension St. Vincent (26.2 mi) and the Half Marathon (13.1 mi) start together at 8:10 AM from the south two lanes; the Indiana Spine Group 10K (6.2 mi) and the Indiana Members Credit Union 5K (3.1 mi) start together at 8:00 AM from the north two lanes. A 4-person Marathon Relay is also available.
The course is flat to rolling — barely 140 feet of elevation change — winding through Hamilton County, the Carmel Clay Parks trails, the Arts & Design District and the Monon Trail corridor before returning to City Center. Marathon runners pass the start/finish at the halfway point, getting a crowd boost before the second loop. Consistently ranked among the top Boston Qualifying marathons in the United States, the Carmel Marathon posted a 21% BQ rate in 2024 (22% in 2023, ranked 4th nationally). Course PR Score: 99/100. All finishers receive a moisture-wicking shirt, a finisher's medal, and a free post-race pancake breakfast courtesy of Anderson's Maple Syrup.
