Wyoming's longest-running marathon — 23 years and still going strong. The Casper Marathon isn't just the longest-running marathon in Wyoming — it's one of the most characterful small-town races in the Mountain West. At 5,150 feet above sea level, the start sits high enough to notice. Casper Mountain (8,130 ft) dominates the southern horizon as you run. The North Platte River winds its way through the high desert. Sagebrush lines the flats. The sky is enormous. This is Wyoming — and running through it on the first Sunday of June is nothing like running anywhere else in America.

Casper, Wyoming — 23 years of running in the Heart of the West
On Sunday June 7, 2026, the Casper Marathon returns for its 23rd edition — the longest-running marathon in Wyoming. For the first time, the race launches from a new home: the Wyo Sports Ranch, a new start/finish location that the organisation is excited to debut. Five events span the morning: the Full Marathon (26.2 miles, Boston Qualifier), the Half Marathon (13.1 miles), the Marathon Relay, the Half Marathon Relay and the 10K (whose proceeds go to local Casper non-profits). The course is mostly flat, mostly out-and-back, with views of Casper Mountain and the North Platte River throughout. All events are professionally timed with RFID-chipped bibs via Laurelt. After-party and awards ceremony at The Ranch at 3:00pm. This is a non-profit event, RRCA member, organised with the spirit of giving back to the Casper community.
