Junshiro Kobayashi est devenu cet après-midi champion du monde juniors de combiné nordique à Hinterzarten. Le japonais succès au palmarès à l'italien Pittin et surtout à son frère Norihito champion du monde juniors il y a deux ans.
Kobayashi a construit son succès sur le tremplin en effectuant un superbe saut à 105m qui lui a permis de s'élancer pour le 5km en ski avec 36sec de marge sur le slovène Jelenko.
L'ordre ne changera pas durant la course de fond et Kobayashi remporte finalement l'or avec 8.9sec de marge sur Marjan Jelenko et 15.6sec sur l'allemand Janis Morweiser qui prend la médaille de bronze.
Le norvégien Wendel, meilleur temps en fond, remonte de la 32e à la 8e place et coiffe sur la ligne le meilleur français Samuel Guy qui termine à une belle 9e place.
Airiau se classe 37e, Arnould 43e et Jacquier 57e.

Junshiro Kobayashi (JPN) - first:
My goal was to administrate the advantage I got from the ski jumping portion. The track was very difficult but very well prepared. I know that I have to improve as a cross-country skier to become a really good Nordic Combined athlete, and I will work in this direction. My role model in ski jumping is Daito Takahashi, in cross-country Norihito Kobayashi. We are not related to each other, Kobayashi is a very popular name in Japan.
Marjan Jelenko (SLO) - second:
I was in a strange situation. On one side, I wanted to catch Junshiro in front of me, but on the other side, I had to be aware of Janis who was approaching very fast. After the jumping, my goal was to finish first or second, I came in as runner-up, and it is ok.
Janis Morweiser (GER) - third:
On the jumping hill, I did not my best attempt. On the track, however, I made a nice race and I am really happy with third place.
