The 17th Corning Incorporated Wineglass 8K takes place on Saturday 23 May 2026 — the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend — in Corning, New York. Presented by the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes and sponsored by Corning Incorporated — the legendary glass and materials science company based right here in the Crystal City — the 8K is the traditional opener of the Wineglass Race Series, Corning's beloved running calendar that culminates in the fall Wineglass Marathon and Half Marathon weekend. This flat 4.97-mile course starts and finishes on the track at Corning Memorial Stadium at Corning-Painted Post High School, winding through the Southern Finger Lakes countryside and back. Completing the 8K launches runners into both the Riesling Challenge (8K + 5K + 26.2) and the Pinot Challenge (8K + 5K + 13.1). A virtual option is available for the 8K for challengers unable to attend in person. The Wineglass Kids' Run (ages 3–8, 50m–800m) is also held the same day.
