The 2026 Denver Colfax Marathon takes place May 15–17 at City Park, Denver, Colorado. Denver's largest running weekend and longest-running marathon features five race distances and draws runners from all 50 states and dozens of countries to the Mile High City (elevation 5,280 feet / 1,609m). The marathon course is a USATF-certified Boston Qualifier that takes runners through the most iconic landmarks of Denver and neighboring Lakewood — all on the longest commercial street in America: Colfax Avenue.
The start and finish are at Ferril Lake in City Park. Highlights include running through Empower Field at Mile High Stadium (on the warning track — twice!), a full mile through Denver Zoo with elephants, giraffes, and zebras as your spectators, cheering firefighters at Denver Fire Station #1, the Denver State Capitol steps, Sloan's Lake with Rocky Mountain views, and a massive post-race festival with live music, food, and a beer garden. An RTD transit pass is included on every race bib — free rides all day.

Empower Field at Mile High — Mile 7
Run through the stadium on the warning track — twice on the marathon course! The most electric spot on the course. Arrive early as a spectator.
Denver Zoo — 1 Full Mile of Animals
A full mile with elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys and more as your cheering squad. "Your personal safari." Half marathon runners included.
Denver Fire Station #1
Run right through an active fire station, cheered on by Denver's firefighters. Ladder trucks and an American flag greet runners along Colfax.
Colorado State Capitol — Mile 2.5 & 24.5
Pass the Capitol steps going out and again coming home — one of the best spectator spots. Cowbells and signs welcome.
Sloan's Lake — Mile 8.5
Dragon Boats, colorful drummers and dancers. Panoramic Rocky Mountain and Denver skyline views. One of the most scenic sections of the course.
City Park Finish Festival
Post-race party at Ferril Lake with 25,000 runners. Live music, food vendors, beer garden, finisher medals and an unforgettable atmosphere.
