Results & Live → 🌐 Official Website →The Providence Hood To Coast Relay takes place August 28-29, 2026, starting at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood and finishing on the beach at Seaside, Oregon. Founded in 1982, it is the largest running and walking relay in the world, drawing over 12,000 runners and 19,000 total participants from more than 40 countries and all 50 states each year. The event has sold out its team limit for more than 30 consecutive years, and on lottery opening day for over 20 years straight.
Teams of 8 to 12 runners cover the full 199-mile (36-leg) course in relay fashion, rotating through legs in the same order across two vans, from the mountains through the Willamette Valley and into rural Clatsop County before the final stretch to the coast. Alongside it runs the Portland To Coast Walk, starting at Exchange 12 and covering legs 13-36 over roughly 130 miles. Overall Awards for both events are announced on the beach in Seaside.
