Boston Marathon Qualifier — USATF-Certified Course
The Lake Placid Marathon is nationally ranked and USATF-certified for accuracy. Qualifying times are officially accepted for the Boston Marathon.
The Lake Placid Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K takes place on Sunday, June 14, 2026 with an 8:00AM gun time at the Olympic Speedskating Oval on Main Street in Lake Placid, NY — home of the 1980 Winter Olympics. Start and finish are at the iconic Oval. The Marathon is a double out-and-back, the Half a single out-and-back, both sharing the same certified course through the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks. The route offers a stunning mix of flat, rolling and some hilly sections through mountain views, open meadows, shaded forest roads, a class III trout stream, and the breathtaking shores of Mirror Lake. A generous 6-hour course limit (both Marathon and Half cut off at 2:00PM) makes this walker-friendly. Finishers receive a medal and 2026 race T-shirt plus athlete food at the finish. Entry fees include a charitable donation to the Tri Lakes Humane Society, Lake Placid Junior Class, and global charities including ACLU and Doctors Without Borders.
