The Life Time Chicago Spring Half Marathon & 10K marks the city's emergence from winter hibernation on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with thousands of runners taking to one of Chicago's most iconic outdoor corridors. Both races start on Columbus Drive, south of Monroe, and run the majority of the course along Chicago's Lakefront Trail — extremely flat, fast and stunningly scenic — with Lake Michigan on one side and the Chicago skyline on the other. The half marathon winds through the Museum Campus past the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Soldier Field. Finish: Maggie Daley Park. The half marathon distance is sold out — limited charity slots remain.
After the race, the Spring Market Finish Festival at Maggie Daley Park is the main event: hot Chicago-style brunch, beer garden, live music, take-home flowers from a build-your-own flower station, photo ops and local vendors. Life Time also offers the Chicago Half Marathon Series: run this Spring Half in May and the Life Time Chicago Half in September for three medals instead of two.
