Launceston — Tasmania's ultimate PB opportunity

The 2026 McGrath Launceston Running Festival takes place on Sunday 31 May 2026 in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, with Race HQ at the iconic Peppers Silo Precinct and Riverbend Park along the Tamar River. Organised by Epic Events and Marketing — a Tasmanian business specialising in mass participation sports events — it has built a formidable reputation since its founding in 2007 as the old 'Launnie 10'. Today it is recognised as one of the fastest road races in the Southern Hemisphere, and arguably Australia's fastest road race overall, drawing 2000+ runners and walkers from across Australia and internationally each year.

The secret is simple: a pancake-flat course, historically cool Tasmanian conditions and deep competitive fields. The half marathon includes the Tasmanian Half Marathon Championships and a Women's Australian All Comers Record was set here in 2023. Whether you're chasing a lifetime PB or enjoying your first event with the family, the four distances — from the Peppers Silo Half Marathon to the Liv Eat Mile — mean there's a finish line for everyone. Race bib collection for 2026 is held at the Kings Wharf Room, Peppers Silo Hotel, Lindsey Street.
