Halifax, NS — The People's Marathon on Victoria Day Weekend

The Medavie Blue Nose Marathon, affectionately known as "The People's Marathon", returns for its 23rd edition over Victoria Day Weekend, May 15–17, 2026 in Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Atlantic Canada's largest annual running and walking event, it welcomes participants of all ages and abilities celebrating healthy living across a spectacular course through both cities. The full marathon is a Boston Qualifier and an Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group Qualifier. Start and finish: Emera Oval, Cogswell Street, Halifax.

The course winds through some of Halifax's most iconic landmarks: the vibrant North End, the beautiful Halifax Harbour, Lake Banook in Dartmouth (crossing the Macdonald Bridge), lush Point Pleasant Park, and the scenic Halifax waterfront. Fair warning: Halifax is famously "hill-y" — but the entire city cheers you on, and the Giv'er Crew will be there to help you up and over. Kit pickup at Zatzman Sportsplex, Dartmouth (Fri–Sat). The Giv'er Charity Challenge engages 80+ charities, having raised over $6.2 million to date.

Giv'er Charity Challenge — 80+ charities, $6.2M raised : The Giv'er Charity Challenge is at the heart of the Blue Nose Marathon. Over 80 local and national charities mobilize volunteers on course and raise funds through participant registration. The Giv'er Crew is stationed on the hills to cheer you up and over. Double Up: run the Purple Cow 5K (Saturday) then the marathon or half Sunday for extra medals. Personalized race bib (if registered by April 22). Kit: participant shirt + Blue Nose Medal.
