The Mizuno Swansea Half Marathon 2026 takes place on Sunday, 7 June 2026 in Swansea, Wales — Wales' vibrant coastal city and, famously, the birthplace of Dylan Thomas. Starting at the city's biggest landmark, the Swansea Arena, this is Wales' biggest and most celebrated summer running festival — voted the UK's best half marathon in 2017 and 2018. The race runs on fully closed roads throughout and is UKA licensed and AIMS certified, making it fully eligible for personal best attempts.
The route is flat and fast, running through the historic heart of Swansea before turning onto five miles of stunning Swansea Bay coastline — one of the most scenic coastal stretches of any UK race. Runners head towards the charming seaside village of Mumbles, the gateway to the Gower Peninsula — the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) — before returning along the coastal path with the bay alongside them all the way to the finish. The electric atmosphere of entertainment zones, incredible crowd support and pacing groups for all abilities make this a truly special event.

🌿 Mumbles and the Gower — UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
At the turnaround of the Swansea Half Marathon course, runners reach the seaside village of Mumbles — gateway to the Gower Peninsula, designated in 1956 as the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From the coastal path, runners can see the iconic Mumbles Lighthouse and the RNLI lifeboat station in the distance — a genuinely breathtaking Welsh coastal panorama that makes the effort worthwhile.
