Results & Tracking → 🌐 Official Page →The brainchild of Mick Manley, the New Forest Marathon has run since 1983 and remains a fixture on the UK's running calendar, consistently ranked among the country's top five races. All routes start and finish at a purpose-built race village at New Park Showground, Brockenhurst, deep inside New Forest National Park, Hampshire. The flagship Marathon covers 26.2 miles of multi-terrain running — a mix of compact gravel, trail paths and tarmac — through ancient woodland and open heathland, along the spectacular Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, lined with towering redwoods and giant sequoias. Free-roaming New Forest ponies and deer are often spotted along the way, and the course is fast and largely flat, ideal for a personal best.
Alongside the marathon, the Half Marathon (13.1 miles) also takes in the Rhinefield Drive, while the 10K and 5K offer flatter, family-friendly options through the forest. Junior races (a 1-mile and a 200m) and a Woodland Walk for supporters and non-runners round out the seven distances on offer. Runners are welcomed home to live music from the main stage, a kids' activity area and a well-stocked trade village. The event supports the registered New Forest Marathon Community Fund, which has donated well over a million pounds to local causes since it began.
