Hawke's Bay — Run Away to New Zealand's Wine Country

The ASICS Runaway Hawke's Bay Marathon celebrates its 10th anniversary on Saturday 16 May 2026, welcoming over 7,200 runners from 65 countries to the sun-soaked wine region of Hawke's Bay. Part of the Runaway Marathon Series (Hawke's Bay, Noosa, Auckland, Queenstown), the event offers a flat, scenic course combining the iconic Napier Art Deco waterfront, hard-packed limestone Hawke's Bay Trails, coastal paths with views of Cape Kidnappers and orchard-lined country roads — all finishing at the spectacular Elephant Hill Estate & Winery in Te Awanga for a genuine food and wine celebration.

Marathon 42.2K (8:20 AM): Anderson Park, Greenmeadows, Napier → Park Island → Napier waterfront (Pania of the Reef, National Aquarium, Spirit of Napier) → Waitangi Estuary, Clive (ocean views) → Tukituki River mouth → Haumoana → Beach Road → Clifton Road → Elephant Hill Estate & Winery, Te Awanga.
Half Marathon 21.1K (8:00 AM): Starts Marine Parade, Napier → joins Marathon at Waitangi Regional Park → same coastal finish.
10K (7:30 AM): Shortest loop. Kids 2.2K. All finish at Elephant Hill.
