The Ultra Scotland 50 & 100 Mile takes place on Saturday 6 June 2026, starting at 6:00 AM from St John's Town of Dalry Town Hall, Ayr Road, DG7 3SW, in Dumfries & Galloway. Both races follow the Southern Upland Way — one of Scotland's Great Trails, fully waymarked and stretching coast to coast across the Southern Uplands. Organised by GB Ultras, both distances carry UTMB performance index points and ITRA mountain points, with live GPS tracking via the GB Race Tracker for friends and family. The 50 Mile finishes in Moffat; the 100 Mile continues all the way to Galashiels. Mandatory kit, baton poles allowed, pacers not permitted.
Start: St John's Town of Dalry Town Hall (Ayr Road, DG7 3SW) · Route follows the Southern Upland Way northeast, passing the iconic Striding Arches of Benbrack, the Covenanters' memorial at Allan's Cairn, Sanquhar, and Wanlockhead — Scotland's highest village — with the ascent of Lowther Hill (701m). The route continues through Gateshaw Rig, the Daer Reservoir, then heads north via St Mary's Loch, the Three Brethren cairns and Minch Moor before descending to the finish at the Focus Community Centre, Galashiels (TD1 1DQ). Finish cut-off: 20:00 Sunday. Dropbag available at CP4, after 57 miles (Bouillon). Live tracking via GB Race Tracker. Finisher buckle: Gold (top 100), Silver (101–200), Bronze (201+).
Same start as the 100 Mile. The 50 Mile follows the same Southern Upland Way route — Benbrack Striding Arches, Allan's Cairn, Sanquhar Town Hall (CP3, 26 miles), Wanlockhead (CP4, 34 miles), Lowther Hill, Daer Reservoir — before finishing at Moffat Rugby Club. Part of the GB Ultras 50 Mile SLAM and GB Ultras 50 Mile Grand Slam. Live tracking via GB Race Tracker. Finisher medal: Gold (top 200), Silver (201–400), Bronze (401+). Optional coach return to Dalry. Mandatory kit required throughout.
