Alki Beach, Seattle — The Pacific Northwest's Most Scenic 5K

The West Seattle 5K returns on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 9:30 AM, bringing runners, joggers, walkers and families with strollers to the iconic Alki Beach waterfront for one of the Pacific Northwest's most beloved community road races. The USATF-certified 5K course hugs the shoreline of Alki Avenue SW, with breathtaking views of Puget Sound, the Seattle skyline and the Olympic Mountains across the water. Start and finish at the Alki Bath House (2701 Alki Ave SW). Rain or shine — this is Seattle, after all.

The event is a fundraiser for West Seattle High School PTSA, supporting Saturday Study Hall, classroom supplies, student clubs, teacher mini-grants and student-led initiatives. Presented by Proliance Surgeons. T-shirts for the first 1,200 registered participants. Gift bags for the first 1,000 (Saturday pickup only). Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome on course. Walkers please start at the back.

Course — Alki Bath House → Anchor Park → Alki Bath House : Start at the Alki Bath House (2701 Alki Ave SW) → east along Alki Avenue SW along the waterfront (flat, fast, paved) → turnaround at Anchor Park → return to the Bath House. 5K / 3.1 miles. USATF certified. Alki and Harbor Avenues closed to traffic from 8:00 AM. Gear check available (bring your gear in a bag/backpack, marked with bib number).

WSHS PTSA Fundraiser — West Seattle High School : Your race entry funds Saturday Study Hall (average 100 students/session), classroom supply needs, student club mini-grants, student-led initiatives, and teacher mini-grants. K-12 students living in West Seattle in financial need may contact the organizers for support. Virtual participation and additional donations welcome via the RunSignUp registration page.

Access: parking is challenging at Alki — carpool, take the bus (King County Metro routes 37, 50), or get dropped off. Arrive early.
