Grande première pour la discipline du combiné nordique avec ce Seefeld Triple, une nouvelle épreuve qui se déroule sur trois jours façon Tour de Ski.
Aujourd'hui 70 skieurs étaient rassemblés au sommet du tremplin pour la manche de saut gagnée presque logiquement par le Norvégien Haavard Klemetsen devant le leader du classement mondial Eric Frenzel.
Jason Lamy-Chappuis, toujours un petit peu en retrait, prenait la 18e place à 39sec de Klemetsen.
Sur le coup de 15h30 retour sur la piste de fond pour un petit 5km. Une distance très courte, presque un long sprint, auquel les combinés ne sont pas forcément habitués.
Magnus Moan viendra prendre la deuxième place à 8.4sec suivi par l'Allemand Edelmann et Klemetsen. Pour le champion olympique Jurassien ce sera une 9e place à 27sec.
Sébastien Lacroix se classe 23e, François Braud 26e, Maxime Laheurte 27e. Theo Hannon 53e et Hugo Buffard 55e sont malheureusement éliminés de ce Seefeld Triple première édition.
Seuls les 50 premiers du classement poursuivent la compétition. Samedi on les retrouvera pour un saut (avec les écarts du fond transformés en points) puis 10km en ski de fond.

Eric Frenzel (GER) : "You can say that we are having quite a good starting position for the TRIPLE now. But on this three days, everything has to be perfect on every day for the overall victory because everything is interrelated. If you fail only one jump, everything is over. So it's all about keeping the concentration for now and not be too enthusiastic."
Magnus Moan (NOR): "I have been really satisfied with the day and that we finally started with the Nordic Combined TRIPLE weekend here in Seefeld. It is something I had been looking forward to. My jumping is improving more and more. But to be honest I was a little sceptic about my shape after the Chaux-Neuve weekend when I didn't get the answer from my body which I wanted. But today I was skiing really fast and hopefully it will continue. "
Tino Edelmann (GER): "I was very enthusiastic when I started the day and then I was really depressed after my trial jump. Luckily I was able to get out of it again and showed one of my best jumps, if not the best jump of the whole season here.Surprisinly, I was third after my jump and also had a very good ski for the race so I could stay on rank three. This is making me really happy and now I am really looking forward to the next two days. "
