Pour cette seconde et dernière journée sur les nouvelles installations olympique de Sochi, les combinés ont du composer avec une chaleur étouffante.
Le thermomètre indiquait 36°C à l'heure du 10km, de quoi inciter les organisateurs à prévoir un point d'arrosage au bord du parcours de façon à rafraichir les skieurs. Nul doute que tous ont apprécier le geste, tout comme ils ont apprécié l'accueil impeccable des Russes ce week-end.
Côté sportif deux hommes ont dominé ces premières épreuves du GP : Bernhard Gruber, vainqueur hier et second aujourd'hui, et Todd Lodwick gagnant ce dimanche et deuxième samedi !
L'Autrichien s'était montré le plus fort lors de la manche de saut mais l'Américain, 5e, a su remonter son handicap sur le 10km en ski-roues avant de règler Gruber au sprint. Le Tchèque Druml, 11e après le saut, se montre lui aussi très efficace sur les ski, résultat il obtient le premier podium de sa carrière sur un GP.

Todd Lodwick : Very happy with this weekend in Sochi. The organizers have made us feel like VIP´s and done everything possible for us to enjoy our stay here. It was very warm today, and the water station help me gain the energy i needed to beat Gruber at the end.
Bernhard Gruber: My jumping is still unstabile, but getting better and better. The stay here in Sochi has been great and i am really looking forward to the winter. Congratulations to all the workers, OC and the voulateers for their great effort.
Tomaz Druml: First time on the podium in the SGP and i was very happy with my race today. My jumping is getting better and better and i really hope to be back here for the World cup and the Olympics.
