Both the marathon and half marathon start at the ConocoPhillips Soccer Stadium at Kincaid Park and finish at Delaney Park Strip in the heart of downtown Anchorage. The marathon course is certified by USA Track & Field as a Boston Marathon qualifying event. The point-to-point route takes runners along the legendary Tony Knowles Coastal Trail — nine miles of unmatched views across Cook Inlet toward the Alaska Range and Denali. Look lucky: beluga whales are occasionally spotted bobbing in the water. The course then winds through the UAA campus, the Alaska Native Medical Center, and over 4,000 acres of Far North Bicentennial Park — home to moose, bears, and salmon streams. The final miles trace Chester Creek back through Anchorage's oldest neighborhoods before the finish at Delaney Park Strip. Co-hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage Athletic Department and the Municipality of Anchorage Parks and Recreation, presented by ConocoPhillips Alaska.
