Organized by the Atlanta Track Club together with the Atlanta Police Foundation and the Atlanta Police Department, the race is a chance for the community to thank local law enforcement and public safety officials, with proceeds benefiting Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta.
Alongside the 3.1-mile 5K, the morning includes a One-Mile Run for ages 7 and up and a 50-meter Dash for kids 6 and under. More than 2,500 runners, spectators and officers typically gather at the start, with families invited to meet APD's specialty units, including SWAT, the Bomb Squad, Mounted Patrol and the Phoenix One helicopter.
