On Sunday, August 23, 2026, Tanunda in the Barossa Valley hosts the Château Tanunda Barossa Marathon Festival.
Four distances are on the program, from the 5K to the full marathon, all starting and finishing on Magnolia Rd. Results and live tracking on RaceTec.
Results & Live Tracking → 🌐 Official Site →The Barossa Marathon Festival takes place on Sunday, August 23, 2026 in Tanunda, in the heart of the Barossa Valley, one of South Australia's best wine regions. The event is organised by the South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC), established in 1980.
All races start and finish at The Rex, Barossa Aquatic Centre, on Magnolia Rd. The marathon starts at 7:30am, the half marathon at 8:00am, the 10km at 8:15am and the 5km at 8:30am.
The course is flat and fast, winding through vineyards and country roads that showcase the region's prestigious wineries. All distances are measured and certified to AIMS and IAAF standard, making it a popular choice for personal bests. Marathoners can leave a personal drink at any of six stations along the route.
The 2026 edition is fully sold out across all distances, with around 3500 runners expected at the start line.
