The Boise Marathon 2026 takes place on Saturday 20 June 2026 — the Summer edition of the SoleKIDs Marathon Series. The race starts from Lucky Peak State Park, following the Boise River as it winds through a rocky canyon from the snow-capped Sawtooth and Boise Mountains before entering the urban Greenbelt and finishing in downtown Boise. The course takes runners through canyons, cottonwood trees, riverside neighbourhoods and some of the prettiest parks in the Pacific Northwest. Note: large sections of the marathon and half marathon have minimal shade under the relentless Boise sun — runners should prepare with a hydration vest, hat, and sunscreen. Elevation is approximately 2,700 feet (high desert). Hydration stations every ~2 miles with water, Gatorade and GU gels. You may also encounter Canada Geese on the Greenbelt (yes, really). Organised by SoleKIDs (solekids.org), a nonprofit promoting youth fitness. Course closes at 2:00 PM.
