On 15-16 August 2026, Shepparton hosts the 27th edition of the Campbell's Shepparton Running Festival, based at Victoria Park Lake in Victoria's Goulburn Valley. For its 27th edition, the festival remains one of regional Victoria's largest running events, with more than 2,000 participants expected across the marathon, half marathon, 10km, 5km and 2km events, bringing around 4,000 runners and supporters to the region. The course follows sealed, shared pathways winding through natural red gum forest, along the Goulburn River, and around Victoria Park Lake — essentially flat with gentle undulations around the riverbanks, making it ideal for first-time marathoners and fast for experienced runners. Saturday 15 August, from midday, is given over to the shorter events including the 2km Fun Run and the Kids Dash. Sunday 16 August, from early morning, hosts the longer distances: the Marathon (a three-lap course closely following the Goulburn and Broken Rivers), the Half Marathon, the 10km and the 5km, the latter sold out well ahead of race weekend. The festival supports the GV Health Foundation's I Care For Cancer appeal, helping fund an Integrated Cancer Centre for the Goulburn Valley, and is expected to deliver an estimated $3 million in economic benefit to Greater Shepparton.
