Canada Army Run, presented by BMO, is far more than a race — it is Canadians and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) coming together in the spirit of camaraderie and community. Launched in 2008 and held annually in Ottawa each fall, the event has grown into a signature national tribute, drawing over 10,000 participants. The 2026 edition takes place Sunday, September 20, with all in-person races starting at 8:00 AM near Ottawa City Hall.

Participants choose from a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon, or push further with one of two multi-distance formats: the Sergeant Major's Challenge (5K plus 10K on the same day) and the Commander's Challenge (5K plus Half Marathon), each earning a dog-tag medal per distance and a unique Challenge Coin. The courses run past some of Ottawa's best-known landmarks — including Parliament Hill and the grounds of Rideau Hall — before finishing beside the National War Memorial, where uniformed CAF members greet every finisher.

The weekend also features the free Juno 1K for kids on Saturday, September 19, and the moving Remembrance Row, an on-course tribute displaying photos of fallen Veterans submitted by participants. Race shirts and hats feature the Canadian Army's CADPAT pattern, and a virtual edition runs from September 4 to 25, 2026 for those who cannot make it to Ottawa. Results: Sportstats.
