The Elktoberfest Wine & Beer Run 5K is a festive, non-competitive run/walk that opens the annual Elktoberfest celebration in Elkhart Lake, a small resort town on the shores of its namesake lake in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Now in its 5th edition, the race starts at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from Vintage Elkhart Lake Wine Shop.

The course loops along the scenic shoreline of Elkhart Lake itself, open to runners and walkers of every level — this is a celebration first, race second. Every participant receives a finisher medal and a souvenir wine glass, plus a drink ticket redeemable for a glass of wine from Vintage Elkhart Lake Wine Shop or a craft beer from 3 Sheeps Brewing Company. A race T-shirt is not included by default but can be added for $5 at registration.

The 5K is only the opening act: the rest of Elktoberfest weekend brings the Elkhart Lake Farmers Market, the ElkhartCares Root Beer Garten with kids' activities, and the Siebkens Stein Social with live polka music and a commemorative Elktoberfest stein — full Bavarian gemütlichkeit in the heart of Wisconsin.
