The iconic point-to-point course runs 26.2 miles from Two Harbors along Scenic Highway 61, hugging the shores of Lake Superior before finishing in historic Canal Park, steps from the Aerial Lift Bridge and Grandma's Restaurant. Net downhill with rolling terrain (+/- 130 ft), it is one of the most sought-after Boston qualifier courses in the United States, drawing over 9,000 participants annually. The Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon starts at 6:15 a.m. on the edge of Duluth's city limits; the full marathon gun goes at 7:45 a.m. Notable landmarks include Lemon Drop Hill (mile 22), historic Fitger's Brewing Co.
