Now in its 24th year, it's the largest charitable 5K in Kansas City, with around 6,000 participants expected and more than $700,000 raised for the local brain tumor community.
Race morning traditionally opens with day-of packet pickup, followed by the 5K run/walk, a Kid's Fun Run, and on-course recognitions for survivors and caregivers, before awards close out the event. The course winds through the Corporate Woods business park, shaded for much of the way.
Funds raised benefit brain tumor research and support through partners including the University of Kansas Cancer Center, Saint Luke's, Children's Mercy Kansas City, Solace House, the Children's Brain Tumor Project, and Head for the Cure's Path to Hope program.
