Selon les autorités près de 150 personnes sont portées disparues.
Un énorme morceau du glacier s'est rompu avant de s'écraser beaucoup plus bas dans une rivière. Ensuite la montée des eaux, soudaine, a tout arraché sur son passage.
Un barrage, où travaillait la plupart des disparus, a été emporté par les eaux en furie.
De nombreux villages, dans cet état de l'Uttarakhand, sont encore en cours d'évacuation tout au long de cette rivière qui un affluent du Gange, le fleuve sacré en Inde.

Brave #Himveers of ITBP rescuing trapped persons from the tunnel near Tapovan, #Dhauliganga, #Uttarakhand this evening after 4 hrs of efforts.
