L'Autrichien Martin Koch, grand spécialiste du vol à ski, a remporté ce matin à Planica le 5e succès de sa carrière après un superbe saut mesuré à 227m50.
Troisième vendredi derrière Kranjec et Ammann, l'Autrichien a pris une belle revanche ce dimanche en devançant cette fois Ammann et Kranjec. Un trio qui aura copiseument dominé ce dernier week-end de l'hiver sur le fameux tremplin Velikanka.
Dommage que le vent, capricieux et soufflant de plus en plus fort, ait obligé le jury a annuler la seconde manche pour des raisons évidentes de sécurité.
Le Norvégien Anders Bardal, 21e ce matin et futur papa d'un second enfant dans quelques jours, est sans doute le plus heureux des hommes avec son globe de cristal dans les bras. Régulier tout au long de l'hiver il remporte de manière surprenante le classement général. Qui aurait parié sur un triomphe de Bardal en décembre dernier ?
A cette époque Schlierenzauer, Morgenstern et Kofler recueillaient tous les suffrages mais finalement le scénario s'est bonifié tout au long de l'hiver pour devenir de plus en plus passionnant avec des victoires Norvégiennes, Japonaises, Polonaises et Allemandes.
Une diversité qui a redonné du tonus à la discipline et déjà on se réjouit de revoir tout le monde fin novembre à Kuusamo !

Anders Bardal (NOR): “It is probably one of the best days in my life and the best day in ski jumping. I’m really proud and happy now. If everything would have gone wrong, Gregor could have won the title today but I was confident and so I was not that nervous. I will go home tomorrow and I have a competition on Tuesday. Next weekend are the Norwegian championships but I don’t know if I will take part. I will become a father again in about 2 weeks so I have to get home and get ready for the birth.”
Gregor Schlierenzauer (AUT): “There are always things that you can improve and at the end of the season you analyze that. This season a dream came true for me with winning the 4-Hills-Tournament and also winning Gold with the team in Vikersund was great. I achieved a lot and the overall World Cup was never my primary goal.”
Andreas Kofler (AUT): “It was a great season for me. It started very well and later in the season I made some mistakes. But I’m still very satisfied. I could also improve in ski jumping which is important to became a perfect jumper and also to maybe achieve my big goal of winning the overall World Cup in the future. I made some steps forward and this is great.”
