Sara Takanashi, déjà gagnante samedi, signe un joli doublé sur le tremplin Kazakh. Avec deux sauts à 98m et surtout 107m (nouveau record du tremplin), la petite Japonaise domine une fois encore la concurrence.

Sur la seconde marche du podium on retrouve la surprenante Russe Irina Avvakumova qui signe du même coup son premier gros résultat au plus haut niveau. Le podium est complété par la Canadienne Alexandra Pretorius qui se classe à nouveau troisième.

Sara Takanashi (JPN): "I am extremely happy about my double victory this weekend. During the training rounds my jumps didn't work out that well, but I managed to get back in shape right in time for the competitions."
 
Irina Avvakumova (RUS): "I really like to jump here in Almaty. The competition was on a high level so I am absolutely satisfied with my result and with the fact that I was able to do everything my coach wanted me to do."
 
Alexandra Pretorius (CAN): "The hills in Almaty are amazing and the competitions were a lot of fun, so it was a great experience for me to come here. I did pretty well and I am happy with my performances."

Taku Takeuchi s'est imposé malgré des conditions difficiles. En effet le vent soufflait toujours assez fort à Almaty et le jury a du interrompre plusieurs fois le concours, avant d'être obliger d'annuler la manche finale.

Du coup tout s'est joué sur le saut de la première manche avec ce Japonais de 25 ans qui s'est posé à 129m avec un total de 117.4 points.

Le Slovène Jurij Tepes se classe deuxième devant le vainqueur de la coupe du monde 2012, le Norvégien Anders Bardal.

Côté suisse, Simon Ammann a manqué l'exploit en atterrissant à 140m (ce qui aurait été le nouveau record du tremplin) et en tombant aussitôt. Dommage pour le quadruple médaillé d'or olympique qui termine 18ème. Ses compatriotes Gregor Deschwanden et Marco Grigoli terminent 33ème et 40ème. 

Alors qu'il ne reste que deux compétitions de Grand Prix d'été, l'Allemand Andreas Wank garde la tête devant Jurij Tepes et Simon Ammann.

Taku Takeuchi (JPN): “The wind conditions today were really unstable and difficult but it's not good if you think about that too much. I just focused on my jump and that worked. Of course I'm very happy now, because this is my first win. I guess I haven't realized it yet."
 
Jurij Tepes (SLO): “We had to wait a lot today, but it was a good competition for me. I'm very happy because I remained calm and did well in this one jump. That was very important. I didn't have any problems with the wind conditions, the jury did a good job. It wasn't difficult for me."
 
Anders Bardal (NOR): "It was a long round with a lot of waiting and changing conditions. You needed a bit of luck today to succeed, but you also need to do your job. Finishing on the podium gives a lot of self-confidence before the winter. The summer has never really been my time of year for ski jumping."
