Michael Hayboeck est le nouveau champion du monde, l'autrichien remporte ce concours disputé sur le K106 de Hinterzarten avec deux sauts mesurés à 106m50 et 110m50, pour un total de 282.5 points.
Hayboeck devance le slovène Peter Prevc et l'italien Diego Dellasega.
Le concours s'est moins bien passé pour les français avec Ronan Lamy-Chappuis ( le cousin de Jason) 28e, Nicolas Mayer 30e (photo), Alexandre Mabboux 35e et Jordan Taillard 53e. Toutefois il faut noter que certains de nos représentants sont agés de seulement 16 ans, c'est à dire deux ans de moins que les sauteurs sur le podium.
On saura lundi si Mayer ou Mabboux, préssentis pour Vancouver, puisse rejoindre au Canada Chedal, Descombes-Sevoie et Lazzaroni.

Michael Hayboeck (AUT): "I felt good the whole day. The delays due to the problems with the inrun didn't bother me. The inrun length was right and the hill was in a great condition. I'm very satisfied with the result."
Peter Prevc (SLO): "During the competition the conditions were not really changing. It was very fair. After my second jump I was dreaming of the title for a little while - but at the end I'm very satisfied."
Diego Dellasega (ITA): "For me it's a big surprise that I could win a medal. My coach told me this morning that I should just jump - and that's what I did. Now I'm very happy about the third place."
