The Marathon (42.2km) starts at 7:00 AM on a flat and fast, Boston-qualifying course that winds through scenic neighbourhoods, the heart of downtown and Edmonton's largest natural feature, the River Valley. Runners and walkers must cross the halfway mark at 96 St-Jasper Ave by 10:00 AM, or they are redirected and awarded a Half Marathon finisher medal instead. For 2026, the Healthcare Solutions Half Marathon takes on extra significance as the host race for the Canadian National Half Marathon Championship, bringing the country's best distance runners to Edmonton to compete in front of an expected crowd of more than 15,000 spectators, supported by over 400 volunteers. The event also includes a 10K, an inclusive run/walk/roll 5K, a relay option, and a free Kids Run (1K, free for ages 7 and under). Race weekend features an official shake-out run with the Edmonton Marathon pacing team, HOKA and Canadian 10K champion Florence Caron, plus an athlete panel discussion at the Westin Hotel on Saturday 15 August.
