Simon Ammann a remporté le premier concours de Coupe du monde depuis les jeux Olympiques 2010 où il est devenu le premier sauteur à skis de l'histoire à remporter quatre titres olympiques en individuel.
Ammann a remporté sa 14e victoire en Coupe du monde, sa sixième de l'hiver avec des sauts à 128 et 131 m pour un total de 284,4 points.
Il a devancé, comme lors des concours sur petit et grand tremplins des JO-2010, le Polonais Adam Malysz (126 et 130 m, 274,3 points).
La troisième place est revenue à l'Autrichien Thomas Morgenstern (123,5 et 130 m, 272,4 pts), tandis que son compatriote Gregor Schlierenzauer, triple médaillé olympique à Whistler, a dû se contenter de la quatrième place (124 et 127 m, 264,9 pts).
Schlierenzauer, affaibli par un rhume, a perdu de précieux points face à Ammann qui a consolidé sa première place au classement général de la Coupe du monde avec 1349 points, contre 1242 points à "Schlieri", lauréat de la dernière Coupe du monde.
Avec 107 points d'avance avant les trois derniers concours de l'hiver, Ammann est en position idéal pour décrocher le globe de N.1 mondial, quelques semaines après son historique doublé olympique à Whistler.
Côté français, Emmanuel Chedal et Vincent Descombes-Sevoie se sont respectivement classés 21e (113 et 119 m, 227 pts) et 25e (115,5 et 114,5 m, 219,1 m). (avec AFP)

Simon Ammann (SUI): "The inrun was short today, but it was good. I already had many good jumps here in Lahti and it feels good to finally win on this hill after my second place last year. Going down one gate in the final helped me to get the heart rate up a bit so I can do something extra. My shape got better and better towards the games and it’s still very good and I can enjoy jumping .”
Adam Malysz (POL): "it helped that I trained on this hill a lot with Hannu Lepistoe, but usually there is more wind than today. It gives me also great motivation for the future that in spite of my age I can still jump that good. We all want to beat Simon Ammann now .”
Thomas Morgenstern (AUT): "I’m extremely happy with my result today. It was a fantastic competition, with nearly no wind and it was fun to jump here. My second jump was the best of the weekend for me. It’s been a long time since a got a 20 of a judge. It’s not easy to show a good telemark close to the hill-size. Simon is hard to beat at the moment. Everything can happen in the Nordic Tournament, I just want to show good jumps.”
