On August 22-23, 2026, the coastal city of Songkhla hosts the 27th Songkhla Marathon, the first marathon race established in Southern Thailand.

Recognised as the first marathon race in Southern Thailand, the event has held a World Athletics Road Race Label since 2023, a global mark of course and organisational quality.
The Fun Run takes place on Saturday, August 22, while the Marathon, Half Marathon and Mini Marathon run on Sunday, August 23. All races start and finish at the Black Patio Chairs area on Chalathat Road, next to Tinsulanonda Stadium.
The World Athletics-certified course runs alongside sparkling lakes and ponds, weaves through the bustling city, and traces the seashore of the Gulf of Thailand and Songkhla Lake.
Runners can extend their trip with a visit to Khao Nam Khang National Park, the Wat Hat Yai Nai Temple, or Samila Beach and its famous bronze mermaid statue.
