The Waterford Viking Marathon returns for its 14th edition on 20–21 June 2026 in Waterford City, Ireland's oldest city founded by the Vikings over 1,100 years ago. The race festival opens on Saturday June 20 with the Children's Run at Waterford Regional Sports Centre, followed on Sunday June 21 by the main races: full marathon (42.2 km), marathon relay, half marathon (21.1 km), 10K, and the disability-friendly run (8.5 km). All races start at 9:00 AM on The Mall (outside the House of Waterford Crystal) and finish on O'Connell Street. The course follows the scenic River Suir quayside, passes the world-famous Mount Congreve Gardens, and winds through 1,100 years of Viking and medieval heritage.
