Hendrickson et Takanashi au dessus du lot

Dès la première manche l'Américaine et la Japonaise se sont installées en tête de ce concours de Sochi, premier contact avec le tremplin qui sera utilisé l'hiver prochain pour les JO. La Française Coline Mattel, en net regain de forme par rapport à la saison passée est alors 5e.

La seconde manche ne bouscule pas la hiérarchie et l'Américaine Hendrickson parviendra à devancer la Japonaise avec son total de 264.2 points contre 258 points à sa rivale.  Hendrickson aura sauté un peu moins loin mais la Japonaise a été plus pénalisé par les juges.

Derrière les deux meilleures mondiales c'est la Norvégienne Anette Sagen qui vient gratter un nouveau podium avec son total de 245 points. 

Coline Mattel arrive juste derrière avec 242.1 points et deux sauts mesurés à 102m et 97.5m. La Française termine ex-aequo avec l'Autrichienne Iraschko. Ce résultat va faire du bien et donner beaucoup de confiance à Mattel pour la suite de la saison.

Ses coéquipières Lea Lemare et Julia Claire manquent la manche finale de peu en terminant 33ème et 40ème.

Sarah Hendrickson (USA): "I enjoyed jumping on this hill. It is great to win on the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games venue. It seems that also this year could become the season of the two Sara(h)s, but let's see how it goes on. There are a lot of other good ladies in the field, but I will always try to give my best." 
 
Sara Takanashi (JPN): “I am very happy that I achieved this second place today. It is a pity that I had some problems with the landing and the telemark. I have this kind of problem since last year. I like the hill here in Sochi but it is a little bit unusual for me."
 
Anette Sagen (NOR): “Like the others in our team, I had some problems with my equipment which arrived late but right in time at the end. I have to say that the Ski Jumping family is really great. If my equipment would not have arrived, some of the other jumpers would have borrowed me shoes and skis. Thanks a lot for this support! The Sochi hill is quite similar to the 2011 World Championships hill in Midtstua in Oslo and I like it very much. I feel comfortable on this hill!"
