The Dingle Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 5 September 2026 in Dingle Town, County Kerry, on the Dingle Peninsula along the Wild Atlantic Way. Both the half marathon and the full marathon start together from the Marina in Dingle Town, heading off in the direction of Ventry and onto Slea Head — the only day of the year when Slea Head is closed to traffic.

Leaving Dingle, runners cross Milltown Bridge, pass the woodlands at Burnham and reach the seaside village of Ventry. The course then continues westward past Dunbeg Fort, with a sheer cliff on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other, crossing a ford at Fahan before reaching Slea Head itself, marked by a stone crucifixion scene with dramatic views over South Kerry and the Blasket Islands.

The half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) finishes near the village of Dunquin, with a bus service laid on back to Dingle. The full marathon (26.2 miles / 42.2 km) presses on from Dunquin through Ballyferriter and Murreagh before a tough hilly final stretch back into Dingle Town. The prize ceremony for both races is held at 1pm at the Full Finish area on race day. Results and live tracking: MyRunResults.
