Results & Tracking → 🌐 Official Page →Launched in 2022 to bring the success of IRONMAN Wales to a second Welsh city, IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea has quickly become one of the most acclaimed races in the IRONMAN 70.3 calendar, voted the 11th best 70.3 run course worldwide out of 106 courses, and the 9th most recommended race and 3rd best run course in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, at the 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Athlete Choice Awards. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, 12 July, with a one-loop swim (1.2 miles) at the Prince of Wales Dock, typically wetsuit legal.
The hilly, one-loop bike course (56 miles, roughly 1,106m of climbing) sends riders through the seaside village of Mumbles and along roads that hug the dramatic coastal cliffs of the Gower Peninsula, before winding through the rural landscapes of Swansea and returning along Swansea Bay into the city. After a transition in the Maritime Quarter beside the River Tawe, the flat, two-loop run (13.1 miles) takes competitors from the city centre out past the eye-catching gold-coloured Swansea Arena toward Mumbles, before finishing back at the Marina. Now part of the global IRONMAN Pro Series with a $50,000 prize purse, the race has sold out its general entries in recent editions and drew some of the biggest crowds ever seen in Swansea.
