Lillehammer : Le fief norvégien aux mains allemandes et autrichiennes
Pour cette cinquième compétition COC homme et première féminine, c'est le tremplin de Lillehammer qui a accueilli les sauteurs internationaux. Après des entraînements perturbés par le vent ce vendredi, hommes et femmes ont participé à leur première compétition de l'été en Norvège aujourd'hui. Côté féminin, c'est Daniela Iraschko qui s'impose et côté homme, la victoire revient au jeune Allemand, Andreas Wellinger.
Les femmes ont débuté leur journée de compétition dès 9 heures du matin avec le saut d'entraînement. Une heure plus tard, les voilà remontées au tremplin pour leur première – et avant-dernière – compétition de coupe continentale cet été.
Dès le premier round, c'est l'Autrichienne Daniela Iraschko qui s'impose devant sa compatriote Jacqueline Seifriedsberger. Avec des sauts mesurés à 97m pour les deux manches, l'Autrichienne démontre encore qu'elle est l'une des meilleures du plateau féminin international. Le podium est complété par la Finlandaise Julia Kykkaenen qui n'a pu aller chercher les deux aigles autrichiens devant elle. Les Françaises étaient aux abonnés absents puisqu'aucune tricolore n'était présente sur ce seul et unique week-end de COC de l'été féminin.

Daniela Iraschko : “I am looking back on very good and successful training sessions throughout this summer. I am training together with the men and they are all better than me. Last week we had a training camp in Lillehammer and I decided to stay here to compete at the Continental Cup.
It was the right decision to postpone the competition to Saturday morning because the conditions were really great. Tomorrow I would like to show a jump of 107 meters”
Jacqueline Seifriedsberger : “Actually I am satisfied with my performance today. My first jump was not that good because I had some problems with the conditions. The second jump was much better. Tomorrow I will try to jump even better and maybe I will manage to stand on top of the podium”
Julia Kykkaenen : “My first jump could have been better, but the conditions are no reason for that. The wind was okay and I hope it will be the same tomorrow,where my goal is to show two good jumps”
Le vent était ensuite au rendez-vous pour les hommes puisque la compétition a été beaucoup retardée – le saut d'entraînement étant même annulé – ne commençant qu'à 20 heures pour terminer à 22 heures !
La victoire revient à Andreas Wellinger qui s'impose avec des sauts mesurés à 121.5m et 130.5m. L'Autrichien Wolfgang Loitzl prend la seconde place de ce premier concours individuel masculin du week-end devant le Tchèque Jan Matura.
Les Français David Viry et Ronan Lamy-Chappuis terminent 13ème et 40ème. Ronan n'a donc pu participer à la manche finale mais David Viry montre ce samedi une belle performance ! Le Norvégien Anders Jacobsen, très en forme durant cet été continental n'a cette fois-ci pas atteint le top 5 puisqu'il termine 9ème.

Andreas Wellinger : “Of course I am very satisfied with my result today. This is the third Continentalcup I have been taking part in. The two places on the podium in Kuopio were so awesome but right now I really don't know what to say. Tomorrow I will try to do my best again, let's see how it will work out for me”
Wolfgang Loitzl : “I came here to Lillehammer to show good jumps and to achieve good results. There are some important competitions coming up and it will all be about a further start place for the World Cup. Therefor my second place was a very good result. I am satisfied with my performance and I hope tomorrow it will be as good as today or even better."
Jan Matura : “A third place is a very good result, so I am satisfied with it. We all had to fight with the conditions today, I don't think there have been big differences. Today the best of us won the competition, but tomorrow I would like to be one on top of the podium."
