Les sauteurs Allemands raflent tout

 

Freund reprendra encore de l'avance lors de la seconde manche sur son dauphin le Japonais Taku Takeuchi. Avec des sauts mesurés à 137m et 136.5m, l'Allemand gagne devant son public, montrant à tous qu'il est bel et bien remis de sa blessure survenue six mois plus tôt.

 

Le podium est complété par l'Aigle Autrichien Thomas Morgenstern auteur d'une remontée formidable lors de cette deuxième manche (de la 13ème place à la 3ème).

 

Seulement deux des trois engagés étaient qualifiés pour cette ultime épreuve du Grand Prix. Emmanuel Chedal termine  38ème et Nicolas Mayer 45ème. Déception pour ce dernier qui termine tout de même 28ème au classement général.

 

Un général remporté cette année par l'Allemand Andreas Wank, lui aussi sacré devant son public. Malgré une petite 15ème place, il s'impose avec 449 points devant le Slovène Jurij Tepes (378 points) et Taku Takeuchi (352 points). 

Severin Freund (GER): “On the whole, I am more than happy with my results from Hinzenbach and Klingenthal. I have had a long break and was just able to watch as a spectator or in front of the TV. It is great to be back in the game now and to come back on top is even better. "

 

Taku Takeuchi (JPN): “In the summer, I was able to achieve several podium places and I would like to keep these results for winter but the most important thing for me is to keep the level of jumping up. I made a typical mistake in the first round and really wanted to correct that. So I concentrated hard to improve that for the final round."

 

Thomas Morgenstern (AUT): “I think, I can be very satisfied with the last competition of summer, especially with the second round. That was a pretty good jump. In the first round, I was a little bit too early on the table. On the whole it was a competition on a high level and I am proud to go back home with a third place. Now I'm looking forward to training and to the winter season."

 

Andreas Wank (GER): "I am definitely on the right way. Of course, the summer is only one step on the way to the winter and there are definitely many things which still need improvement but to be rewarded for your hard work is fun. I will try to take this "head wind" now and continue the good work."
