Malgré le manque regrettable de public, et cette ambiance de folie qui règne habituellement à Planica, le spectacte était au rendez-vous durant ces mondiaux de vol à ski 2020.
Un rendez-vous majeur de cette saison qui se déroule sur quatre sauts, en additionnant tout simplement les points.
Il aura fallu attendre le tout dernier saut de ces deux jours de compétiton pour voir Karl Geiger décrocher la médaille d'or, pour seulement 0.5 point.
L'Allemand, qui remporte sa troisième médaille d'or mondiale, la première individuellement, doit sa victoire au fameux télémark et aux notes de style qui ont suivi.
Geiger reçoit une majorité de 19/20 alors que son rival Norvégien Halvor Egner Granerud récolte pas mal de 17/20, car lui n'avait pas pu, voulu, poser le sien.
Markus Einsenbichler, autre Allemand en grande forme, complète ce beau podium avec une bonne quinzaine de points de retard.

Michael Hayboeck termine au quatrième rang, devant Robert Johansson et Yukiya Sato.
Les Polonais se classent seulement 7e et 8e avec Zyla et Stoch. Les Slovènes, qui avaient beaucoup misé sur ce concours à domicile, ne se consoleront pas avec la 12e place de Lanisek.

This is so cool, amazing. 0.5 points on a Ski Flying hill is almost nothing. Before this weekend I didn't expect to win here, even though I knew that I like this hill and that I can jump well here.
Right now I really don't know what to say, it's the first time for me on top of the podium in an individual competition at such a big event.
I'm overwhelmed that I could achieve this. I'm also very happy for Markus, actually I would have expected him to win gold here, he's in such incredible shape. I'm extremely happy that we could be on the podium together.
Halvor Egner Granerud (NOR):
I thought I had a chance to win today because in the fourth round I saw how far beyond the green line I landed and I knew how good the jumpers before me are.
So I was hoping for the gold with that jump but unfortunately it was just not good enough.
Markus Eisenbichler (GER):
I'm extremely happy, it was a tough fight on these two days between five athletes. Congratulations to Karl, I'm so happy for him. Halvor was also amazing here. It's incredible that I could win a medal, it's my sixth at World Championships.
Of course, I would have loved to win the title, but the competition is strong. All the hard work is paying off right now. I'm happy that the title went to a teammate and we will celebrate with one, two or three beers tonight.
But then we have to focus on the team event tomorrow, we really want to be on the podium again.
